New Lower Manhattan

In The Brooklyn Navy Yard. New York.jpg
A view of the inside Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York. Let me tell you an anecdote that happened to my daughter India and me a little before taking the photograph. When I was conceived, my parents lived in Brooklyn, New York. My father spent 2 years working as an engineer at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, contributing to the construction of 2 aircraft carriers. Perhaps due to this, and because I was nearly born there, I've always held New York in high regard as a fetish and an inspiring city. In 2017, my daughter India and I embarked on a photographic journey to New York. As we approached the access control of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the guard initially denied us entry, as we lacked permits and accreditation. I persisted, and it seemed impossible, yet, inexplicably, at one point, he entered the small booth and emerged with a sticker that granted us access to the entire facility and allowed us to take photographs. While I don't believe much in the afterlife or paranormal situations, that change of heart from the guard appears to have been influenced by my father, wherever he may be. Thank you, Dad. From there, the views of Manhattan are truly unique.

Crece el Interior
The interior of a cathedral, where human furnishings and usable space are gradually being replaced by a forest of trees. Nature is reclaiming the interior in a natural, gradual process, as it's only natural for nature to slowly replace the human intrusions.

Dubai's Oasis
Dubai is an oassis. A nearly perfect cityscape of Dubai in which the city emerges from an oasis situated in the sea. It's a city reimagined and enhanced, where each building becomes a part of a carefully crafted pictorial composition. The orcas emerge from the sea in a way that seems like they are reclaiming their space in nature, representing the entire animal kingdom that is going through a tough time due to climate change. About the technique: In his artistic process, Arriaga incorporates the Grisalla and Glazes technique, a traditional technique method used by the ancient masters. They usually begin by painting the complete image all in black and white, creating a base known as grisaille, and then applying transparent glazes layer by layer, producing a vibrant interplay of colors, gradients and volume. This technique adds depth and visual interest to his paintings. So Carlos employs photography as a grisaille, fashioning a photograph with minimal contrast and prominent highlights. This technique enables him to attain a notable sense of volume when translating it into painting, in conjunction with a unique texture. It ultimately yields a captivating vibrancy, depth of color, and a characteristic texture.
